The Client: Coca-Cola

The Challenge: Build an online presence for Coca-Cola branded merchandise. Existing retail was limited to the retail store at the Atlanta corporate headquarters and various specialty merchandisers. The three criteria for the site were to maintain consistent Coca-Cola branding; create a fun shopping environment with exciting ways to shop; and create an easy way to find and purchase the various branded merchandise.

The Solution: The homepage offered several ways to find products (search, category, or featured items), special seasonal offers and a navigation background that changed according to the season. The site contained games, trivia, a preferred customer program and an organized information architecture that made shopping simple. I introduced a unique shopping option that the client was particularly excited about - window shopping - a shopping experience that changed with the seasons and replicated walking by windows of the department stores in large cities. The idea was to use a different artist (photographer, painter, sculptor, etc.) each season to build a new set of displays for each major category adding an interesting way to shop while keeping the site fresh.
